From the 2-night work trip to a 2-week vacation, one thing we all look forward to is climbing into our hotel bed. What is the secret sauce that makes them soooo dreamy? We have researched for you (it’s a hard life). With the help of expert Louise, founder of Studio Gabrielle, who curates exquisite beds, we’ve put together five steps for creating a hotel-style bed in the unrivalled comfort of home.

1. The bedding

Smooth, crisp and fresh as a Summer daisy, the bedding is the first thing that lures you in. Louise points out how hotels pay exquisite attention to detail, creating that inviting, relaxing atmosphere, though we often don’t do this at home. Well, why not? Choosing beautiful bedding is the first place to start. The key is to choose high-quality, breathable fabrics like bamboo, linen or cotton. If you like slipping under silky, soft sheets (and really, who doesn’t), our 100% bamboo bedding makes a great choice. Highly breathable, bamboo regulates temperature for cool summer nights (who needs aircon) while insulating you for that cosy ‘don’t want to get out of bed’ feeling in winter. We offer a range of colours to suit every dreamer. Stuck on a choice? Louise advises wearing white, which never goes out of style and gives a clean, pure look year-round.

2. The base

Experience a 5-star hotel retreat in your bedroom with Studio Gabrielle’s La Grâce Bed. Its captivating curves beckon you on an emotional journey to deep slumber while tranquillity fills your space. Available in UK and European sizes, fully upholstered in exclusive house fabrics, with statement ball feet and an ingenious inset base system, this bed blends style and comfort effortlessly.

The timeless sophistication embodied in this bed brings the opulent aura of luxury hotels to your home. Carefully curated details inspired by the moon’s dance and ocean rhythms create an ambiance of grandeur. Studio Gabrielle’s dedication to quality craftsmanship and impeccable design ensures your space becomes a haven of relaxation and elegance.

This isn’t just about aesthetics; it’s about transforming your space into a luxurious retreat while embracing sustainability. The La Grâce Bed bridges refined taste and eco-conscious living, making it the perfect centrepiece for your personal 5-star experience.

3. The Pillows

Hotel pillows are the ultimate treat; plump, fresh and plentiful; they often come in different shapes and sizes to create the perfect comfort level. Though at home, two is enough to do the trick when you know what to pick. If you like firm support, a memory foam pillow is ideal. The advanced technology adapts to your sleeping position, optimising neck and spine alignment. Choose a breathable fabric like bamboo for that fresh side of the pillow feeling. If you enjoy a bit more squidge, the Hybrid Bamboo Pillow provides the best of both. The mix of charcoal-infused memory foam, O2 Micro-pods™ and soft, breathable bamboo cloud cover gives just the right balance of cool, cushiony comfort for a seriously good slumber.

4. The Mattress

When it comes to the most amazing night’s sleep, the mattress is king,” says Louise. Hotels normally get it just right, providing a surface that is a dreamy combo of softness, support and breathability that makes you want to take the bed home. While that might not be an option, you can have your own. A Hybrid Mattress gives you that five-star feeling, blending two of the most popular mattress fills. Advanced third-generation foam supports your sleeping position, while pocket spring technology relieves essential pressure points, providing bespoke comfort and isolating movement if you share a bed. Though with a bed this comfy, you might not want to!

5. The Duvet

What makes the perfect duvet? “It has to be light, fluffy and deliciously soft”, says Louise, who loves snuggling in for duvet days and luxurious lie-ins. A hotel duvet always feels like it’s been made just for you; our Bamboo Cloud Duvet has. Using our signature breathable bamboo and innovative Nano-Microfibre™ we’ve created the softest, fluffiest duvet that will have you drifting off on cloud 9. “Bamboo is a great choice for sleep. I have fallen in love with it for how gentle and soft it feels on my skin” says Louise, who is getting sleepy with all this talk of hotels and bedtime. Perhaps it’s a good time to wrap things up…

So there you have it, the five essentials for a five-star sleep at home. You might not quite want to cancel your next holiday, though at least you know you will have a gorgeously comfortable bed to look forward to when you get back.

Feeling blue? Creating a beautiful blue bedroom could be just the thing to lift your mood. This classic, fresh colour comes in all kinds of shades, and these blue bedroom decor ideas will get you inspired to take a deep dive into the ocean of bedroom design.

What are the benefits of a blue bedroom?

There are a few benefits to having a blue bedroom for your health and style. Blue is a calming and soothing colour that can help reduce stress and promote relaxation. It is also associated with feelings of serenity and tranquillity, which can be conducive to a good night’s sleep. Additionally, blue is a versatile colour that can be paired with various other colours and styles, making it a popular choice for interior design. Read on to find out more.

Blue rooms can lower blood pressure

If you are looking to keep your heart and blood pressure healthy, a blue bedroom could be a bright place to start. The calming colour is actually known to lower blood pressure and reduce stress, promoting a calm, peaceful mood. Perhaps the secret to staying chilled is a boudoir makeover away.

Blue can help you sleep

Struggle to drift off? A cosy blue bedding set could help. The soothing colour is great for relaxing at night, which could help promote melatonin production. This will help ease you into a long, peaceful sleep and wake up feeling fresh as the ocean.

Blue is versatile

Depending on what shade you go for (and there are a lot of choices) blue is a wonderfully versatile colour that can be easily styled and blended with some of your existing decors. Powdery blue matches perfectly with white and grey while brighter tones can look great with pinks and greens. When it comes to bedroom design, blue is a colour you can have a lot of fun with. Let’s get started with that design.

How to choose blue bedding?

A good place to start seeing up your new blue oasis is bedtime. Blue bedding can be a simple way to add a splash of blue to your bedroom while you test the colour out. First, think about what shade of blue you prefer. Have a scroll through Instagram and Pinterest to see what shades make you feel most relaxed. It’s important to choose a soft, smooth fabric that will keep you comfortable. Going for a neutral navy blue bedding set gives you room to play around with complimentary shades and will go with plenty of accessories. Bamboo adds a silky, stylish finish to your bed and is a dream to snuggle up in. The natural, breathable fabric is thermoregulation, making it perfect for every season. So you can keep your blue bedroom and sleep nice and fresh from winter to summer.

How to accessorise in blue?

Next up, you will want to think about blue bedroom ideas for accessorising. Again, before taking the plunge with painting your room (as blue walls can be a big commitment), there are plenty of ways to dip your toes into the colour without making any drastic changes. Blankets and throws in different shades of blue can add texture and a focus point, whether you drape them over your bed or a chair. Cushions are another easy way to add a touch of colour and keep you comfy (especially if you are working from home) Or perhaps for your ‘something blue’ you go for some colourful artwork. There are some budget and planet-friendly creative shops where you can pick up pre-loved pieces that could be the perfect fit for your blue room. Have some fun shopping around and see what you can find.

Combining a blend of light, powdery blues is a popular choice for creating a calming effect. Pale blue bedroom walls can create a serene feel. Many of us look to our bedroom as a quiet, relaxing sanctuary and blue is a beautiful way to create that space.

Sky-high blue

Instead of counting sheep, drift off under a sky of calming blue by painting your ceiling blue. If you want to create a true nighttime effect, add some stars for a shimmery glow. Wrapped up in your bamboo bedding, you will be ready for a dreamy night’s sleep.

Grey is the new Black: Expert Advice for Styling Your Bedroom With Grey Colour https://pandalondon.com/expert-advice-for-styling-your-bedroom-with-grey-colour/ Mon, 20 Feb 2023 18:21:55 +0000 https://pandalondon.com/?p=193288

Stuck on a choice as to what colour to style your bedroom? You can’t go wrong with a bit of grey. This modern neutral colour comes in a shade for everyone and with the right touches creates a stylish, calm sanctuary to relax in. Here are some expert tips from paint colours to accessories to help you design the perfect bedroom.

How can you incorporate grey into your bedroom?

When it comes to interior design, it’s best to start with some research before diving in. Get together some magazines and blogs or explore some Pinterest boards to gather inspiration for your bedroom look. There are so many ways to use grey, from wall coverings to fabrics and lampshades, though it’s best to start with knowing the space you want to create. Here are some key points to think about:

Wall coloursThe ‘main event’ of bedroom decor could arguably be the walls, as these take up so much space and influence over the room. They are a leading feature of any bedroom redesign. Before you decide on a shade of paint, it is important to know the overall colour scheme you want to create.

FabricsFrom curtains and throws to warm carpets. Fabrics are a great place to incorporate grey into your bedroom. There is plenty of opportunity to play with shades that complement each other. For example, you may want to go a little darker with carpets while keeping bedding and accessories a little lighter. Speaking of bedding…

BeddingYour bed is another focal point of your bedroom. Grey bedding comes in many different fabrics and shades, and choosing it is one of the cosiest parts of any bedroom makeover. It is an excellent place to start and test your feelings about the colour without transforming the whole room.

PaintingsArtwork is a great way to throw some grey into your bedroom as an alternative to painting every wall. From modern pieces to timeless classics, hanging work from your favourite artists in your bedroom is an easy way to add a touch of grey glamour and compliment your colour scheme.

LightingLampshades are another subtle way to infuse some lovely neutral grey into your bedroom. From the ceiling to bookshelves, lighting is a glowing part of any interior design project and deserves your attention.

What are the best grey paint colours for a bedroom?

There are so many different shades of grey and when it comes to painting, it’s worth taking your time to choose. Very pale shades of grey can create a serene atmosphere in your bedroom, while darker tones can feel more moody and intense. You can mix and match paints and blend greys together to create the perfect shade. The lighter the tone, the more neutral it will be, which can be livened up with accessories and bedding. While darker shades can be a little colder, they can be warmed up with lighter shades when decorating. Have an idea of the mood and tone you want to create and feel most comfortable in before picking your shade. Do you want a warm, calm bedroom? Or a cool, trendy boudoir? This is where those Pinterest boards and inspiration work their magic- remember what they taught you in school- always do your homework!

What types of bedding work best with a grey bedroom?

Bedding can be a more playful part of interior design, though getting it right is key to a comfortable night’s sleep. Choosing the right shade and fabric will influence the overall feel of your bedroom. Do you prefer a smooth fabric or something more textured? 100% Bamboo bedding provides a beautifully smooth, glossy finish and can come in urban grey (darker) and quiet grey (lighter shade). For something more textured, bamboo and french linen provide a stylish, edgy finish. Vintage pink bedding is an excellent addition to any grey colour scheme. Playing around with colours like soft pink can add a touch of style and personality to your bedroom. Bamboo as a fabric is great for creating a seasonal room; it is naturally thermoregulating for the cosiest winters and fresh summer nights. It will keep you snug as a bug in your new grey bedroom all year through.

What are the must-have grey bedroom accessories?

Accessories are a fun but an important part of finishing your bedroom makeover. Once you have decided on your walls and bedding it’s time to add those final touches. Here are some must-have accessories to complete your look:

Cushions and throws – Adding different shades of greys is a great way to balance out the colour scheme. Cushions and throws are an easy way to lighten or cool down walls and add some style to your bedroom.

Candles – Chunky candles in different tones of grey and delicious scents can enhance the mood of your bedroom. From warming vanilla to relaxing lavender, they can warm up the overall feel of your sanctuary to help you relax and unwind.

Rugs – If you don’t have carpet (or even if you do), adding a fluffy, plush rug to your bedroom floor will make jumping out of bed dreamy. Think about textures and shades that will enhance your overall colour scheme and create a space you can’t wait to come back to at the end of a long, tiring day.

Final Tips

Bedroom makeovers are the perfect time to create the dream space you always wanted. When going grey- take your time in choosing the right shades, bedding and accessories to channel your own sense of zen. Pretty soon you will be drifting off in your very own grey paradise.

Panda Interview: Interior Designer and Airbnb Host Stasia Buckle https://pandalondon.com/interior-designer-and-airbnb-super-host-stasia-buckle-interview/ Mon, 06 Feb 2023 18:11:52 +0000 https://pandalondon.com/?p=190901

Isn’t it great when you LOVE the bedroom you’ve chosen to stay in? It’s even better when the bed is so comfy you don’t want to leave. So, what is the secret to designing that perfect room? Stasia Buckle knows a thing or two about what it takes to give her guests the best night’s sleep. Here she shares her top tips on creating the perfect bedroom, why a good mattress is vital, and how she maintains her glamorous status as an Airbnb super host.

1) Hi Stasia! Airbnb has become one of the world’s favourite ways to travel, it must be very competitive and challenging to become a super host- congratulations! What do you love most about the role?

Thank you – Yes, it is full on. I really love getting 5-star reviews, they really help give other guests the confidence to book my properties. I also love receiving messages from guests telling me what a wonderful time they had at the Airbnb. That means a lot. I’ve also had a lot of people stay for anniversaries, birthdays even mini-moons so it’s extra special when these guests message to say it was the perfect stay.

2) That’s nice, it must be a great feeling to know you are giving people such great memories. Where do you get your inspiration?

I stalk Instagram & Pinterest for Inspiration. I love using colour, especially pastels, colours, homeware that reminds you of holidays, sun, sea and sand, sweets, or anything delicious. I want my decor to give you a dopamine high.

man laying ona hybrid bamboo pillow smilling

3) When preparing a bedroom for guests, what are the key things you focus on?

The bed is obviously the most important thing, you want to ensure the guests are warm and cosy in the winter and cool and comfortable in the summer. The mattress is king so it’s important this is breathable and reacts to body temperature. It should also be moisture and odour resistant, antibacterial and hypoallergenic.

I want it to be long-lasting, durable and above all else super soft on the skin and comfy. In the winter, I also add a hot water bottle and sometimes an electric throw just as an option for guests if they want to feel super toasty. I like the bed to be made perfectly with towels folded on the end, shampoo and body wash placed on top, and some fluffy slippers. It’s all these little touches that guests really appreciate.

4) It sounds like you are very fussy about a good night’s sleep! How do you choose the best bedding?

I like the bedding to feel and look luxurious with a high thread count. It also has to be easy to wash, as I do so much laundry.

5) As a super host with guests staying all year, what are your top tips for styling an ‘all season’ room?

My top tips to keep the bedroom comfy and stylish all year are:

  • Use a throw on the bed that is warm but also lightweight and suits both the winter and summer months. Or choose a duvet and bedding made from fabric that is thermoregulating and breathable all year round, bamboo is perfect for cosy winters and cool summers.

  • Keep the linen colours simple and neutral so they work with any accessories all year round.

  • I adore Panda’s bedding as it is thermoregulating, stylish, and comes in a range of colours that work all year round.

  • I like to put out lots of pillows and cushions, I think you can make the room look super stylish by accessorising with cushions and I believe you can never have enough pillows.

  • You want to buy bedding and accessories that you know won’t fade or lose their comfort, another reason I choose Panda bedding is bamboo gets softer and softer with every wash and is incredibly durable.

6) You certainly know your stuff, your guests seem to be very happy with your choices. What do you believe they love most?

Guests always comment on the small touches, like extra towels, slippers and the bed and bedding being soft. They really want to feel special and get a good night’s sleep.

7) There is nothing like a good night’s sleep, and you are right we all love to feel special. Why do you believe guests come back to stay again?

I think it is because they love the uniqueness of the colourful decor and they know they will get a good night’s sleep. I go above and beyond so they trust that everything will be provided for them to ensure they have the best stay possible.

8) Finally, share your favourite three things in your bedroom.

Easy! My favourite things in my bedroom are my bed, my Panda Hybrid Pillow, and my TV because I am currently addicted to Happy Valley.

Thanks Stasia, we look forward to chatting more about style, sleep and bedding with you soon.

If you are looking to become a super host or even create the perfect bedroom at home, take inspiration from our Airbnb star. From pinching ideas on Instagram, providing the little touches and choosing the perfect mattress, everything you need is at your fingertips.

How to Create the Prettiest Pink Bedroom for a Princess https://pandalondon.com/how-to-create-the-pink-bedroom-for-a-princess/ Mon, 30 Jan 2023 17:00:24 +0000 https://pandalondon.com/?p=189757

Once upon a time, there lived a little girl who loved all things pink… If this sounds like your little princess, she will probably want the pinkest bedroom of them all. Not sure where to start? This guide will help you design the perfect pink bedroom for the prettiest of bedtimes.

Where do you find inspiration for designing a pink bedroom?

The best things happen when we feel inspired, so before you pick up a paintbrush, take some time to gather ideas and inspiration for your pink bedroom makeover. This can come from searching online, looking at mood boards and interior magazines, and seeing what sort of look you want to create. You can use many accessories to style your bedroom, from cosy curtains and pink bedding to sweet rugs and throws. Exploring pink bedroom accessories will help you create a list of possible products you could use. You could even design your mood board to put together all the styles that you like (so you have plenty to inspire you if you get stuck)

How do you style a pink bedroom?

When you feel you have flicked through every magazine and scrolled enough online blogs to be ready to jump in, it’s time to get to styling. You want to make a list of the final products you are going to use. Once you have the staples sorted, you can play around with choosing the perfect accessories. Start with the essentials like curtains, bedding, and paint to get set up.

Here are a few questions to ask that will help you create the ultimate pink paradise.

Panda London Bamboo & Linen Bedding In Himalayan Pink

What curtains could you use for a pink bedroom?

Choosing a cosy, pink curtain is a great place to start designing your bedroom. You want to find a shade that will go with the rest of the room, so choose the suitable pink for your little princess. Whether that’s as bright as watermelon or lighter, gentler pink, you can ensure everything matches and compliments the room. Choosing pretty thick curtains will help keep the room insulated for cosy nights. Go for a durable fabric that will keep the cold out, and you will not need to change it until she is ready to update her bedroom to a new colour.

How do you choose paint for a pink bedroom?

There are so many different shades of pink, from pale and powdery to deep, dusty rose. Making sure you choose the right shade is vital. You can easily browse the different varieties online or in-store before ordering. You might even want to buy one or two different colours and mix them together. Go for a good quality paint to get the best finish, though feel free to experiment by asking for samples and take your time to make sure your little princess loves the colour. You do not have to paint every wall, you may find you want to mix pink with white to design the perfect bedroom.

What bedding is best for a pink bedroom?

Every pink princess bed has to be dreamily comfortable and utterly perfect. You want to choose pink bedding that is soft, snuggly, and breathable. A natural fabric like bamboo is ideal for bedtime. It is easy to wash and keep clean (even getting softer with every wash), plus the soft sheets are kind to the skin and thermoregulating. There will be no need to change them every season. Bamboo is an excellent choice for the planet, and it is one of the world’s most sustainable resources while being one of the most indulgently luxurious materials for our homes.  One thing is for sure, the silky, smooth fabric is soft enough for a princess.  They will keep your bedroom pink, cosy and fabulous all year round.

How long does it take to design a pink bedroom?

Rome wasn’t built in a day. And neither does your pink bedroom have to be. Feel free to take your time with the project and make it as fun as possible. You may want to stage the design to accommodate your budget and schedule. Putting all your tasks down into a planner can help you get organised. You can set dates you want to work towards and have an end goal in mind. Jobs like painting are best getting out of the way as soon as possible as once this is done (and everyone’s happy), it will be easier to accessorise and ensure everything goes together. If it is a project you want to get done as quickly as possible, turn it into a team job. Designing the perfect bedroom can take anything from one week to several months. Go at your own pace, and remember, there is no such thing as too much pink.
